I just noticed that after the Time Lord Doctor leaves, when the Doctor grab’s Rose’s hand, her thumb strokes his.
This little detail is just so beautiful to me. She’s just been left in a universe she’s spent so much time trying to escape, and the person who left her is the person she loved most. He was unable to tell her he loved her, and didn’t even say goodbye.
But as upset and even slightly confused as she may be, she still has him. She realizes, in this second, that he’s probably just as confused. After all, this man whose hand has just found hers is the same man who just left her - he has the same memories, the same pain, and he needs her just as much. He needs her more, because how can a 900-year-old Time Lord suddenly be human and just cope with the fact that he probably has about 50 years left? He couldn’t handle that alone.
This moment is as comforting for the Doctor as it is for Rose. He grabs her hand, partly because he needs to feel that she’s there with him once more, and partly to show her that he’s still here. And she strokes her thumb across his for the same exact reasons, and to show him that she knows who he is, and she loves him even though he’s not “the original.”
“Rose. Her name was Rose.”
The Doctor getting angry and shouting at things because Rose is in danger.
